he Nigerian Youth Parliament has endorsed President Jonathan to contest for a second term in office.

The newly elected speaker, Hon. Abba Waziri who described Jonathan as “the best thing that has happened to this country since the advent of democracy”, said his giant strides in repositioning the country amidst distractions for greater achievements is unprecedented.

“The country, since the inception of this administration, has witnessed huge economic, social and infrastructural transformation. Let us continue to support our president as patriotic Nigerians, so as to bring out the best in him,” he said.

Waziri pledged to continue in the template of programmes set by his predecessor (Hon. Abdullahi Maibasira) noting that the platform of the Parliament is veritable towards empowerment of effective youth participation in not only parliamentary advocacy but in governance.

He stressed that the parliamentarians have, unflinchingly, resolved to channel the moral rectitude and tactical intelligence of its teeming members across the country and diaspora, towards mobilising millions of youths for the re-election of the president come 2015 and their aspirants on the platform of the party, so as to put political detractors to shame.
