Niger police arrests vigilante , one suspect for kidnapping

Two suspected kidnappers, including a vigilante were arrested by the Niger State Police Command for kidnapping one Henry Christian, even as they demanded a ransom of N30 million at Madalla, in Suleja Local Government Area of Niger state.

The two suspected kidnappers arrested on 16th December 2014, were Austin Arikpo 25years old, hails from Cross Rivers state, based in Ogun state, and AbdulRahman Adamu 22year-old, a vigilante member based in Madalla.

The Police Public Relation Officer, Ibrahim Abiodun Gambari disclosed this to our reporterToday in Minna, the state capital that one of the key suspects, Iwelalor Chilota Aka Owolabi who is now at large invited Austin from Ogun state to carry out the crime.
He said the mode of operation of the gang was to target people based on their personalities, outlook and the type of cars they drove, adding that Henry was kidnapped while in a Murano Jeep car, while dropping a friend Sarah Edo as he was kept and rescued at flat 4 Aba- AbanaEsstate in Madalla, behind Living Faith Church.
Gambari noted that the suspects drove to the area in a Honda Accord (Baby boy) and forced Henry into the car at gun point and took him to an unknown destination before report reached the Police.
The PPRO said as soon as the report the Police, they swung into action, leading to the arrest of the two suspected kidnappers at Madalla.
He stated that items recovered were, locally made double-barrel gun, one Dane gun, 4 knives, 25 expended cartridges, 2 screw drivers, a plier, sealing tape and bandage used to close the mouth of their victim.
