The All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to tackle the insecurity facing Nigeria if elected to govern the country in 2015 general elections.

A chieftain of the party in Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, who is also the APC gubernatorial candidate, stated this in Abuja, noted that another focus of the party would be fighting corruption in the public and private sector, noting that it is only when corruption is tackled that the country can develop.

He further emphasised the need for a true transformation of the power sector, assuring Nigerians that the party will decisively confront the issue of power failure to encourage small scale industries across the country.

“With the kind of President we have, I am sure that if it is announced that Buhari has won, fifty per cent of what is going on today in the country will stop, because people will stop, watch and wait, because it will never be government as usual”, he said.

Speaking on the capacity of the electoral commission to conduct credible election next year, he said that if the Resident Electoral Commissioners at the states would be upright and courageous enough, the country would witness transparent polls in the elections.
