If approved by the Kebbi State House of Assembly, the state government will spend a total of one hundred and sixty six point eight billion naira (N166,825,048,092:00) for the 2015 financial year.
The budget has a capital expenditure of one hundred and twenty six point nine billion naira (N126,888,545,719 :00) and recurrent expenditure of thirty nine point nine billion naira (N39,939,502,373:00), indicating an increase of about fifteen billion over the 2014 budget.
Governor Saidu Dakingari yesterday presented the budget to the Kebbi State House of Assembly ‘ tagged Making Economic Development a Reality for All’.
He highlighted the revenue expectation of government as N179, 298, 352, 20 to finance the budget.
Dakinari who was making his last budget presentation also stated that Kebbi has witness tremendous economic and social development over the years in view of the peaceful nature of the state.
Other areas according to him where the government has recorded success was the construction of international airport , recruitment of 4000 teachers , and also the creation of 500 jobs at the new airport for the youths.
A new ministry of Animal husbandry and livestock management has also been created and extension services as well as fisheries would receive greater priority by government in 2015 according to Dakingari.
