New Year/Maulud: Army restricts vehicular movement in Borno

As the Federal Government declares January 1st and 2nd 2015 as public holidays to commemorate the New Year Celebration and Eid-el Maulud, the 7 Division of Nigerian Army has imposed a total ban on vehicular movement within its area of responsibility from 6.00am today, January 1, 2015 to 6.00pm on Friday, January 2, 2015.
In a press release signed by the spokesperson of the Division, Colonel Sani Usman, the military said the directive implies that movement by animals (horses), bicycles, motorcycles, tricycles and motor vehicles are totally banned in the state during the specifies period
The restriction is informed by the need to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of law abiding citizens of Borno State throughout the period.
Colonel Usman also urged the public to report any suspicious movement of persons or vehicles around their environments to the nearest security agencies.
