New Year: Bala felicitates with residents, urges steadfastness to peace

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, felicitates with resident in the Territory, and others across the country, as they mark New Year 2015.

In a New Year Message, the enjoined residents to remain steadfast and resolute in joining hands with other well meaning Nigerians to build a new Nigeria under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan where generations yet unborn would be proud of.

The Minister appreciated God for opportunity to witness this New Year celebration, in spite of the daunting security challenges facing some parts of the nation.

He charged Nigerians, particularly residents of the FCT to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another, insisting, “It’s only peace that can usher in genuine development.”

Mohammed also enjoined residents to remain unwavering; continue to believe in the capability of the country’s leadership whilst being their brothers’ keepers.

The Minister reiterated the commitment of his Administration to continue to provide serene and clean environment in consonance with the blueprint of his Administration and Transformation Agenda of President Jonathan.

On security, the Minister assured that all security outfits in the Territory are working together and are more than ever prepared to remain on top of any unexpected security breach.

“I charged you to always assist the Security Agents with useful information on any suspicious movement because security is everybody’s business,” he added in the statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Muhammad Sule.

Furthermore, the minister noted that this year’s New Year is very special to the nation, because it is an election year for the country where citizens would have yet another opportunity to elect their leaders.

Mohammed thus, called on Nigerians irrespective of religious beliefs or political inclinations to pray for Nigeria to experience peaceful 2015 general elections and urged them to abhor violence.

The Minister emphasized that the country needs prayers at this crucial time to have successful and peaceful elections to strengthen our democracy.
