Traders, artisans lampoon Gwagwalada chair over alleged non performance

Some traders in Gwagwalada Area Council, of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have accused the chairman of the area council, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri of non-performance, for failing to rehabilitate the road along Lasisi medicine store way, leading to the Gwagwalada main market, in the area.

They also tongue lashed the chairman for not rehabilitating the demonstration primary school road, which has become as death trap to the residents in the area.

The traders, who spoke with Peoples Daily on Tuesday, in Gwagwalada, alleged that the chairman had not carried out any meaningful project in the area, since he look over the leadership of the council in 2013.

A panel beater, Mr. Peter John, said that the Giri-led government of Gwagwalada Area Council had failed to provide the need succour for the traders and residents in the area.

He pointed out that the most of the roads in Gwagwalada were in terrible conditions, and urged the chairman to redouble his efforts to repair the dilapidated roads, this year.

Similarly, a petty trader in the area, Mrs. Cecilia Moses, lamented that most of the rural dwellers had been neglected in terms of provision of drugs and other facilities, for the people.

She noted that the leadership of the Council should understand its roles especially the provision of basic health care for its residents.

The petty trader therefore called on the chairman to provide drugs at the health centres at various communities in the area.

Not left out, a community leader in Anguwan Ajara, Mallam Lawal Saleh, said that the current administration of the council was yet to impact positively on the lives of the electorates (the people).

He however, appealed to the council chairman to provide a transformer for the people of Anguwan Ajara, in order to boost electricity supply there.
