Adamawa assembly charges state govt to pay NECO/WAEC fee for IDPs

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a resolution charging the executive arm of the government to pay for National Examination Council, NECO and West Africa Examination Council, WAEC examinations fee for internally displaced persons, IDPS in the state.

Chairman House Committee on information and member representing Michika constituency Hon. Adama Kamale brought the motion at yesterday plenary session at the floor of the house saying it became importantly necessary for the state government to assist the school leavers in the displaced communities of the state by shouldering this year’s examination fee for NECO and WAEC respectively.

Hon. Kamale stressed that, the ugly activities of the Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the state especially those from the northern senatorial district have thrown people in to a serious confusion due to the gravity of destruction of properties and lost of lives of loved ones by those that survived the attacks.

He therefore solicit the house of intervene by asking the state government to come to the aid of final years students who are about to seat for the above mentioned Examinations (NECO/WAEC) in the state.

Seconding the motion, Hon. Aliyu Iya representing Uba/Gaya constituency said it has become naturally eminent for any reasonable thinking human being to support this course for the development of our future leaders in the state.

Hon. Iya observed that, education is the bedrock of development to any serious nation in the globe.

Adding his support for the move, Hon. Jerry Kumdisi, member representing Gombi constituency stated that, the resolution in timely considering the condition of the internally displaced persons, IDPS in the zone.

Kumdisi explained that it is obvious for any government to assist it’s electorate at a time of need like this.
