The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Reconciliation Committee saddled with the responsibility of addressing or reconciling the internal political squabble rocking the party in Adamawa State has visited the state weekend with a call for all to work assiduously for the victory of the party come 14th February 2015 general elections.
Chairman of the committee, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State made the clarion call in Yola after having a crucial meeting with the party’s stakeholders, noting that there was a little crack within the party hierarchy which their meeting and consultation had fixed with a view to waxing stronger as a political platform.
Governor Dankwambo who addressed journalists at Government House Yola said there is no serious crisis in the party in the state rather a spilt difference which has been tackled for the interest of the party and Nigeria as a country.
“With what I see on ground, I think victory is certain for PDP in Adamawa State. The most important thing is that, I assured all our stakeholders that as a party man, everybody should work for our success.
“We also appealed to those who are victorious in the party primaries that they should be able to carry everybody along after the election so that that we will make our party wax stronger.”
“Particularly I came to Adamawa State on the mission of the PDP, the party I belong to, to meet some of the stakeholders of the party in the state to see how we will move the party forward” Dankwambo further explained.
Among the personalities that attended the meetings were, Governor Bala James Nggilari, the flag bearer of the party in the state, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the state chairman of PDP, Chief Joel Madaki, former governor of the state and the incumbent Minister of Youth Development, Mr. Boni Haruna, Minister of Woman Affairs Hajiya Zainab Maina, former acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri among others
But our correspondent in Yola who was at the venue of the meeting observed the conspicuous absence of most of the aggrieved stakeholders which include Ambassador Wilberforce Juta, Dan Suleiman, Sen Halilu Girei, Major General Aliyu Kama, former adviser to the President Goodluck Jonathan, Barrister A.A. Gulak, Dr. Umar Ardo, Barrister Auwal D. Tukur, Senator Grace Bent and Professor Andrawus Sawa.
