Buhari can’t stop PDP in Jigawa – Gantsa

Date:

From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Birnin Kudu/Buji federal constituency in Jigawa State, Alhaji Ali Mohammed Tukur Gantsa, has said that the influence of the All progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential flag bearer, General Muhammadu Buhari, cannot stop the party in the state from winning elections in all positions in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking to newsmen in Kano yesterday, Gantsa said that PDP in the state has the prowess to defeat any opposition party during elections because of the giant strides recorded by the state governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido.

According to him, the performance of the governor has instilled confidence in the mind of the contestants in the state that their ambition would be achieved, adding that people of the state are also satisfied with the what the governor apparently delivered in the state.

“We have no reason to entertain any fear knowing that the governor has prepared the ground for us to win the election. No one ever doubts my capacity and ability to deliver and I am going to prove my mettle” he said.

The former adviser maintained that the APC presidential candidate has lost in his last three contests, stressing however that the situation is going to be the same in the next month’s poll because the people of the state are satisfied with what is on ground.

“Governor Sule Lamido is eight years now in office and Buhari has lost in his last three contests. Within these eight years, we are all satisfied with what the governor has done in the state. Therefore, this time around, Buhari will again loose in our state” he said.

Gantsa, who was the former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, expressed optimism that with what he has in stock for his people, they would enjoy a huge dividend of democracy if elected as the representative, stressing however that his candidature was through a democratic process not selection.
