APC sensitizes student leaders, mobilizes for Buhari

Ahead the February general elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has brought together all the student leaders loyal to the party across the nation’s higher institutions for a sensitisation meeting, even as they strategised on how to deliver the candidacy of General Mohammadu Buhari, as the next president.

While addressing the gathering in Abuja, the convener of the meeting and the National Youth Leader of APC, Alhaji Dasuki Jalo, who acknowledged various activities that have been going on by the students and various groups, also said it was important that all youth groups comes together to know each other and strategize more.

“We found it necessary this kind of interaction to familiarize ourselves and to get to know you and for you as well to get to know us that is the only way we can create synergy between us and also to appreciate you for all that you have been doing and secondly to re-strategize on how to approach campaign, how to approach elections, and on how do we participate and monitor the election, that is why we feel the student have a very important role to play.”

Jalo told the students that General Buhari has promised to tackle the issue of unemployment which he said the current economic situation in Nigeria does not give easily, saying, “Buhari has promised to create 2million jobs the first year of his administration.”

He therefore urged the students’ representatives to get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and also ensure they sensitise as many as possible to get as well, adding that “this is a revolution for people with PVC to drive Jonathan and PDP out of government.”

In his own, the Coordinator, Students Mobilisation for the APC Presidential Campaign, Abdulrahman Agboola, said that Buhari has the capacity to return the country to the path of prosperity blamed bad governance for the fallen standard of education in the country.

Secretary of the young women forum and daughter of late MKO Abiola, Busols Abiola, also remarked that it behooves on the students to ensure the defeat of the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration to end what she termed “sixteen years of deception” and maladministration in the country
