
The Corporate Affairs Commision (CAC) has refute a news report by Lawyers on Allegation of delays on the recently introduce AI Powered business registration portal.
In press Release yesterday by the Commision’s management, the Orgànisation attributes some Challenges being experience to other stàkeholders on the registration value chain and call for restrained.

‘ The attention of the Corporate Affairs Commission has been drawn to an online Newspaper Publication Premium Times titled: “Lawyers decry CAC’s AI portal, cite challenges” published on 19th July, 2025. The Commission wish to state clearly that the piece is loaded with many unfounded claims insinuating poor service delivery thereby crippling ease of doing business in Nigeria. In view of the misinformation, the Commission wishes to inform and clarify to its esteemed Customers, valued Stakeholders and the General Public as follows:
NIN VERIFICATION , The Commission had on 30th June,2025 clearly stated that instant registration with just NIN of Directors and within shortest possible time shall be subject to viability of other Shareholders during the Registration process.
However, in view of certain glitches experienced by the which hindered the arrangement, the Commission in its continued efforts to deliver service in line with global best practices explored an alternative technology solution to verify the myriad of data submitted along with applications.
PAYMENT GATEWAY To ensure that payments are done real time without obstacles that will hinder the registration processes, the CAC has since forwarded a request for additional payment gateways to the appropriate authority which is receiving due attention. It is imperative to note that the Commission has a collaboration/ integration on its portal with other stakeholders for the payment of services like Remita and Stamp duty payment
SAFEGUARD TO PERSONAL SECURITY: In accordance with provisions of Data Protection Act,2023 the Commission in its newly deployed Intelligent Companies Registration Portal (ICRP), introduced additional security checks to prevent users from surrender to amongst others their access to third parties or operate multiple suspicious accounts. The ICRP requires that for transaction with the CAC a One Time Passcode, OTP each must generated, be and it goes straight to the email or phone number of the original account holder.
COST EFFECTIVE : The newly deployed ICRP is no doubt a cost effective system for our valued customers as they no longer lose money on checking availability. The innovation has ensured that customers only proceed to payment after securing the name.
SERVICE DELIVERY: The ICRP has so far been speedily responding to applications as it now treats over 11,000 cases per day. Interestingly as of Friday 16th July,2025, 8,000 Name Reservation requests were received and processed. This is no doubt a feat but hitherto requires a minimum of 2 weeks to complete. Worthy of note is that the Commission receives a minimum of 3000 emails necessitating her automation to deliver quality service to its esteemed customers’.
APPEAL: ” The Commission is not unmindful of the fact that transition comes with Challenges. With valuable feedback from stakeholders, we are sure of delivering a better-quality service. The CAC therefore wish to state its unalloyed commitment to soon make the portal perform optimally as a champion of service delivery to the commendation of customers and stakeholders”.
