Alia inspects equipment for revival of Benue rice mill

The Executive Governor of Benue State,  Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, today inspected equipment procured for installation at the state-owned rice mill located in Wadata, Makurdi Local Government Area.

He said that the provision of the equipment marks a significant step towards revitalizing the state’s economy and reviving small-scale industries.

The mill, built during the military administration of Aminu Isa Kontagora, has been moribund and abandoned for years, suffering neglect by previous administrations.

However, with Governor Alia’s vision for a thriving economy, the mill is set to be operational once again, under the management of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

This initiative is a deliberate effort to boost women’s participation in small-scale businesses, which are the bedrock of economies.
