A renown Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi has integrated qur’anic school with western education as part of effort to reduce almajiri begging in the society.
The scholar established nursery, primary and secondary school in Bauchi.
This is the first time the scholar established such kind of western education schools in over 100 years that he spent propagation the Islamic knowledge.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony yesterday, the state commissioner for education, Dr. Jamila Mohammed Dahiru, commended the Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation for its commitment and efforts towards the imptovement of education.
Represented by director in the ministry, Hajiya Aishatu Ahmad Aminu, the commissioner urged the foundation to do more for the educational development of the state.
Dr Jamila said integrating Islamic studies into modern education would foster a well-rounded understanding and reiterated the commitment of the state government to prioritise education.
