The man Asari Dokubo does not know the devastating effects of war that may be the reason he is fond of war. One thinks that Mr. Asari Dokubo is being carried away by the successes they recorded during Militia activities in the South-south. That was not a war, but a protest to draw the attention of the authorities. If those are the yardsticks of his outbursts of being ready for war, he has mistaken because a war destroys everybody and everything. As the saying goes, a newly recruited ignorant soldier boasts of going to war, possibly because he does not know its devastating effects. This is about a soldier, whose Profession is to fight a war, talkless of Asari Dokubo who possesses the weapons he claimed to have illegally. On February 4, he said “we are ready for war” over Jonathan’s election in 2015. He also stated on May 8 that no girls were missing from Chibok, describing it as a scam. He again said “we will meet Boko Haram in the battle field”. The Niger Delta volunteer force leader also threatened that to avoid war, APC has to take its candidate from Niger-Delta, so that whoever wins will be from the zone, otherwise even in a free and fair election if Jonathan lost to another candidate not from Niger-Delta, it will lead to war. Mr. Dokubo further called on others from South-South to support Jonathan and the Ijaw to fight the Northern Imperialists. One begins to ask himself what is Asari Dokubo up to, because the way he speaks, it looks like he is more powerful than every other Nigerian including the President. He appears to be an authority in himself who felt he can do and undo at will. If not because Asari Dokubo claims to have about ten children who can all operate guns with considerable expertise, an indication that he is a family man taking care of his wives and children, his people would have been asked to seek for psychiatric help on his behalf. But under the circumstance I would like the Presidential aides to guide him rightly, because democratic governance is not obtained through fighting wars. I believe he will listen to the Presidential aids, since all his fire spitting posers are for the sake of protecting the chair for Goodluck Jonathan come 2015. These wars Dokubo has been calling for if actualized may not give Jonathan the seat of the Presidential because there may be others with better fire power which Asari Dokubo may not be able to survive let alone give the required protection to Jonathan. If can be
understand that Mr. Dokubo is also asking South-South to prepare for war, as Boko Haram may extend their offensive to the region. With the kind of confidence Asari Dokubo has for war, as we read on the pages of Newspapers, one may think that he will carry his gun and cross the Niger to meet them, instead
of waiting until they corner him at home. It is always better to fight a war away from home even for the sake of guaranteeing the survival of women and children.
0.Indeed there is the need to remind Asari Dokubo that fighting wars at home endangers innocent people and let him know that he only knew how to maneuver in the creeks and should avoid inviting trouble, because when it happens, it does not differentiate between the culprit and the innocent. If the war gets to its oeak, he will find the world too narrow for himself as the creeks may not be able to hide him. Like every other Nigerian, Dokubo has a right to support a candidate of his choice and campaign for him in the best civilized manner by galvanians support for him across the country. It will be wiser for Mr. Asari Dokubo to find a string and tie his tongue from these thirsts for war, because nobody will be intimidated by his empty threats. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.
