The Northwest zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth Vanguard has said former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a Nigerian to the core and eligible to contest for any position in the country.
Leader of the Group in the Zone, Hon. Ibrahim Ahmadu disclosed this while speaking to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
According to him, Atiku Abubakar hails from Adamawa state, and any attempt to discriminate against him is contrary to section 42(1)(a), (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Ahmadu who was referring to a suit filed by Egalitarian Mission for Africa(EMA) stated that Atiku who was a former Governor of Adamawa state, and also a two-term Vice president of Nigeria, has proven his citizenship.
Ahmadu added that his parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were born in Nigeria and they lived, died as Nigerians, and were buried in Nigeria.
