Sequel to the attack on the convoy of the Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Dr 3Emmanuel Akabe by armed benches on Tuesday evening along Akwanga High way which led to the death of three police officers and two others, the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule described the incident as heinous and condemnable; calling on the security operatives in the state to expedite efforts by fishing out the bad elements.
Governor Sule, who stated this yesterday during a security meeting with all the state security chiefs at the Government House Chamber Lafia, the state capital.
According to him “I urge you all not to be discouraged in your duty. I encourage you to put more efforts by protecting the lives and property of the state citizens. This is an unfortunate incident that has happened where three gallant officers were killed”.
The Governor continued, “My administration is committed, determined and will continue to support security operatives in the state towards ensuring that criminal elements do not have a place to perpetrate their dastard act”.
“Everybody has the privilege to move freely in the state without molestation by evil men of the world. Government will not allow some disgruntle elements to terrorize the good people of the state. I call on the security agencies not to be deterred when carrying out your duties”. Governor Sule added.
The Governor, however, commiserated with the families, state police, Deputy Governor and the entire people of Nasarawa State over the ugly incident; calling on the general public to give useful information of suspicious movement of people to the relevant authority for prompt action.
Also reacting to the ugly incident, the Nasarawa State Police Commissioner, Mr. Bola Longe told journalists shortly after the security meeting at the Government House that the state command was already on top of the matter, promising that the armed robbers will definitely be apprehended.
“We have discussed extensively on the sad incident as well as put in place measures to fish out the criminals. I call on members of the public to go on with their normal businesses. I also assure that the security operatives in the state are fully prepared to protect individuals and their properties,” the commissioner added
