At least 10 persons were yesterday reportedly killed in Sengev, Gwer West local government area of Benue State during an attack on the community by suspected Fulani herdsmen, who used chemical weapon.
Chairman of the area, Mrs. Eunice Mbajoor who disclosed this to newsmen in a telephone interview alleged that they may have died as a result of use of substance suspected to be chemical weapons.
“There were no cuts on their bodies but they were foaming. We suspect that a substance was used on them by some persons”.
Mrs. Eunice intimated that the corpses have been deposited at the State Teaching Hospital for post- mortem to ascertain if the substance is actually chemical weapon.
In the same vein, a concerned indigene of the state and founder of Sesor Empowerment, Ier Jonathan Ichacer based in Makurdi had alleged in a press statement that he had intimated the Benue state government through the Commissioner of Justice, Barr. Alex Adum urging it to investigate the use of a substance suspected to be chemical weapons by Fulani mercenaries to kill the local of Gwer West local government area.
