The Northern Ethnic Youth Group Assembly (NEYGA) has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to thoroughly clean up its structure and remove any remnants of the Godwin Emefiele-led administration.

The group accused the former leadership of mismanaging funds and compromising the bank’s integrity.

Mallam Ibrahim Dan-Musa, NEYGA’s spokesperson, stated, “Emefiele’s actions were detrimental to our economy.”

He urged the current management to hold the former leadership accountable and to ensure no traces of the previous administration remain.

The group stressed that retaining any influence from Emefiele’s tenure would undermine the CBN’s ongoing reforms and hinder Nigeria’s economic progress.

NEYGA encouraged Nigerians to support the new management’s efforts to restore the CBN’s credibility and stability.

“We must embrace reform now or face the consequences tomorrow,” the statement warned.

The group praised the special investigations committee, led by Jim Obazee, for uncovering the mismanagement details and demanded decisive action towards reform and accountability.

Facing intense scrutiny over its economic management, the current CBN leadership has pledged to implement reforms to stabilize the economy and restore public trust.

NEYGA’s statement is seen as a vote of confidence in the new management and a call to ensure those responsible for economic mismanagement are held accountable.
