An Islamic Cleric, Dr Semiyu Olagolden, has said that there’s a need for Muslims all over the world to take daily doses of Islamic opium which is useful and effective for healthy living even in times of hardship.
He asserted this in his paper presentation during a seminar organised by the Association of Muslim Intellectuals of Nigeria (Amin,) with the theme: ‘Safeguarding our mental health during this economic hardship’, in Kaduna, yesterday.
Dr Olagolden who is also the CEO and MD of Comforter Hospital and Laboratory Services in Abuja, said that Islamic Opium is a combination of the teachings and instructions of Allah to his children to enable them to survive difficult times.
According to him, difficult times are bound to come on everyone and will surely pass but those who forget the teachings of Prophet Muhammad will also lose their integrity and dignity along with it.
Speaking about the economic challenge suffered in the Country, he advised traders and other businessmen and women to not use the period of Ramadan to exploit others by inflating the price of goods and services.
He stressed that many Muslims have forsaken the instructions of Allah to do good at all times but are busy engaging in evil deeds that will kill their humanity and faith in God, forgetting that true Muslims are the reasons for the season.
The Islamic cleric also encouraged them to engage in good deeds, praying for others, correcting others with love and engaging in cheerful giving such as the zakat and other charitable works, stressing that such acts of love help to instil hope of a better life in the receivers.
He added that Muslims should learn to be grateful at all times and show gratitude to God as it is the greatest thing to give to God to get their desires fulfilled.
