Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, (COREN) and Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC)is collaborating to established inventory engineering.
The president of COREN Engr. Sadiq Abubakar made this known during a courtesy to the General/Chief Executives Officer of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Engr. Emmanuel Kwaya recently in Abuja .
He said they are engineering based organizations that will be involved in exploring, acquisition and development in to commodities and products for import substitution and export promotion.
Speaking further , Engr. Abubakar said there is a need for synergy with relevant agencies for processing of raw materials to meet standardization for engineering and industrial use .
He told the director general that collaboration will also champion the development of codes and standards that will promote the commercialization and uptake of machineries for processing value addition of raw materials into commodities products .
“ COREN is ready and interested in RMRDC “.
He explained that coren is doing all it best to ensure as a regulatory body engineers are certified, licensed to meet all the engineering global standards .
He said investing and promoting rural economy is vital just like RMRDC is doing .
The president revealed that National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) has challenged coren to bring data of all engineering agencies in Nigeria for them to posted engineering graduates to such places .
“ And RMRDC has an important role to play for the data collection we needed “.
Responding , General/Chief Executives Officer of Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), Engr. Emmanuel
Kwaya , appreciate COREN for collaboration with his council .
“ We are always happy when we see our regulators visiting us . We ready to work hand in hand for the advancement of the engineering and technology in our country “, he said.
