The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on Nigerians to use the occasion of the Eid El Maulud celebration to offer prayers for the peace and stability of the country.
The PDP, in a statement yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, warmly felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria and across the world as they commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The party further harped on the need to make use of the opportunity to pray for divine guidance for the nation’s leaders at all levels as they discharge their responsibilities to the people.
It urged Nigerians to draw from the timeless virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by promoting unity, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
The party stressed the pertinent need to continue to “strengthen the bonds that unite us and work collectively towards a more just, democratic and prosperous Nigeria”.
According to the party, “Maulud Nabi is a significant occasion for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary character of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose message of peace, justice, compassion, honesty and love for humanity continues to inspire generations.
“At this special time, the PDP urges Nigerians to draw from these timeless virtues by promoting unity, tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.
“As a nation, we must continue to strengthen the bonds that unite us and work collectively towards a more just, democratic and prosperous Nigeria.
“The Party also calls on Nigerians to offer prayers for peace and stability in our country, and for divine guidance for our leaders at all levels as they discharge their responsibilities to the people.
“May Almighty Allah accept our prayers, strengthen our faith, bless our nation and grant us the wisdom and courage to build a Nigeria where justice, equity and good governance prevail.
“The PDP wishes the Muslim Ummah a peaceful, blessed and spiritually rewarding Maulud Nabi celebration”, the statement concluded.
