The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido on Thursday presented the 2022 Budget of Transition worth of Ten Billion, Five Hundred and Seventy-Six Million, Nine Hundred and Sixteen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty-Four Naira (N10,576,916,754.00) only to the legislative arm of the Area Council.
Candido said: “As always, the 2022 Budget is prepared using the zero Based Budgeting (ZBD) approach to eliminate inefficiency and focus on the activities that have direct bearing and impact on the lives of our people”.
According to him, “the 2022 Budget of Transition like other years is a product of collective relevant stakeholders of the council borne out of the desire to cement the achievements of our administration while providing a smooth take-off plan for the next administration”.
He further said: “As it were, this regime would be having the stage by May, 2022 for a new government in the council. Therefore, this Budget, designed as progression is expected to provide an easy flow of business activities for the incoming administration.
The Chairman, however, charged the council’s legislators to deem it necessary to expedite actions on the implementation of the Budget, and thanked the lawmakers for their co-operation.
On his part, the speaker of the legislative chamber of the Area Council, Hon. Isah Abubakar Baushe said the lawmakers would put in their best to implement the 2022 Budget for the sake of good people of the Area Council.
In another development, Candido had commissioned a Health care centre at Karmo Sabo and urged the people of the community to safeguard the facility.
Also speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the supervisory councilor in charge of Health in AMAC, Hon. Binta Dahiru thanked the Chairman for providing basic Health care centre at Sabo Karmo community.
