From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina

Early morning fire outbreak has destroyed property worth billions of naira at the Katsina Central Market.

Eyewitnesses at the market told our Correspondent that the fire started around 8:00 am yesterday where it destroyed hundreds of shops.

However, there were no reports on the exact cause of the fire as most of the traders blamed it on electrical faults, while others simply attributed it to fate.

Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari who visited the market sympathized with the traders over the unfortunate incident.

Masari however cautioned against the sales of Gas and Petroleum products within the vicinity of the market adding that the government will direct security agencies to flush out sellers of inflammable  substances out of the market.
