As the race for the leadership of the 10th Kaduna State House of Assembly (KSHA) hots up, the Coalition of Kaduna Young Professionals on Monday appealed to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider member-elect, Ahmad Muhammad DanAsabe as the next speaker.
The group also called on other aspirants who are eyeing the speakership position of the next assembly to reconsider their aspirations and join hands with Ahmad in the interest of fairness, and equity, especially as the governor-elect and deputy-governor-elect came from zone 2 and zone 3 respectively.
To this group, in addition to competence, physical, and mental ability, Ahmad hails from a Zaria local government, which has been giving APC bulk votes since 2015.
The Convener, Amb. Ishaq MSani at a press conference in Kaduna said, having been elected for the third term, Ahmad is eminently qualified to head the next State Assembly.
To him, “it behoves the leadership of the APC and the good people of our dear state, to ensure that its post-election choices and direction reflect the urgency of sustainability in line with the sustain manifesto of the Governor-Elect, our dynamic leader per excellence Sen. Uba Sani, which is centred on safety and security among others.
“We know of course, that the conversation about the next Kaduna state House of Assembly leadership has been on for the moment even though informally.
“But we wish to place on record that consolidating and continuing with the excellent achievements of the present administration under the incoming administration of Sen. Uba Sani requires the enthronement of competence, credibility, and expertise above s sentimental considerations for the leadership of the 10th assembly position.
