The family and friends of Rev.Edwin Achi, an Anglican priest kidnapped alongside his wife, Sarah Achi, on October 26, 2025, are pleading with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and security agencies for their urgent assistance.
Speaking on the condition of anonymity, family members indicated that the priest and his wife have now spent nearly four weeks in the kidnappers’ custody after being taken captive by armed men who attacked their residence in Nissi village, located in the Chikun Local Government Area.
The family urged security agencies to build on any current momentum to rescue the kidnapped couple.
The kidnappers have reportedly communicated with some family members, demanding an outrageous ransom for their release.
The family also called on all people of goodwill to join in praying for the safe and swift return of Rev. Achi and his wife.
“We are begging you, Mr. President. Our friend and his wife are in the hands of terrorists; we need your help now more than ever,” the message read.
This appeal comes just days after President Tinubu ordered security forces to ensure the immediate rescue of students and teachers abducted in the recent kidnappings.
The Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), and the police have been mobilized, employing intelligence-driven operations and aerial surveillance to locate the hidden captors.
The family, therefore, urged the President to ensure that Rev. Achi and his wife are also rescued from their captors.
