The Kwara State Government will renovate 898 Junior and Senior secondary schools in the state to enhance education.
The government has constituted Technical Service Providers under the state Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project to make the renovation a reality.
Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, made this known to journalists in Ilorin.
Olohungbebe said a two- day workshop for members of the technical providers committee has just been completed.
The Commissioner who is also Chairman of the State Project Steering Committee of AGILE thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his good educational initiatives.
Olohungbebe added that, the present administration would construct blocks of classrooms with other facilities in 26 public schools.
He said that Kwara AGILE was determined to touch the lives of the people in many ways including Conditional Cash Transfer, digital literacy, life skills training, and second chance education for girls.
The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment project is a 5-year project of the Federal Ministry of Education with support from the World Bank.
It is aimed at enhancing secondary education opportunities among girls in public schools.
