The Northeast Arid Zone Development Programme (NEAZDP) distributed food items to vulnerable members of communities in Geidam Local Government Area, on Thursday.
Speaking during the exercise, the NEAZDP Programme Manager, Dr. Mulima Idi Mato, explained that the support was made possible through the strong collaboration and commitment of the Yobe State Government under the leadership of Governor Hon. Dr. Mai Mala Buni, a people-oriented and compassionate leader.
Dr. Mulima further stated that NEAZDP had implemented similar humanitarian interventions many years ago, but the programme became inactive over time.
He emphasised that it is through the visionary leadership and renewed commitment of Governor Mai Mala Buni that such impactful initiatives have been revived and strengthened.
He added that the intervention is not limited to one area, as the programme will be implemented across all nine Local Government Areas under NEAZDP’s coverage to ensure that more vulnerable families benefit from the support.
This gesture reflects the Governor’s genuine concern for the welfare of the less privileged and also showcases the dedication, competence, and humanitarian spirit of Dr. Mulima Idi Mato, whose leadership continues to bring meaningful relief and hope to the people.
