Niger State Parent Teachers Association (NIPTA) has condemned the unconditional action and unlawful dissolution of the state executives of the association purportedly announced by the Director General, Schools Reform and National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN).
The State Chairman, Adamu Yunusa in a statement issued in Minna, described the action as unwarranted and unconstitutional which is a clear overreach and demonstration of blatant disregard for the rule of law and rights of the NIPTA members in the state.
The association insisted not to recognize or comply with such illegal directive, adding that as a duly registered association the dissolution can only be effected by a court of competent jurisdiction.
Yunusa emphasized that they will continue to work tirelessly to promote the welfare of students, teachers, and parents in Niger state.
