- …Lament lever of terrorism, kidnapping
By Folorunso Alagbede, Abuja
Right Activists and Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Senate, Mr. Shehu Sani, has declared that it will impossible for terrorists and kidnappers to freely operate in the state if he is elected the governor in the 2023 general election.
This is even as another governorship aspirant from Katsina State, Mr Ahmed Aminu Yar’Adua claimed that the various gains and achievements recorded by the PDP in Katsina State, so far, have been wiped away by the incompetence of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Both Shehu Sanni and Aminu Yar’Adua spoke yesterday shortly after picking their expression of interest and nomination forms at the party’s National headquarters in Abuja.
Senator Sanni emphatically said that Kaduna State needs a leader that can lead the battle against bandits and terrorists who have laid siege there for a while.
He noted with regret that the state had never been as divided as it now under the Governor Nasir el-Rufai-led All Progressives Congress (APC), saying that only justice, equity and fairness could unite the people.
According to Sani, there is no terrorism and banditry in Kano and Jigawa because “the governments are proactive,” wondering why Kaduna’s case is different.
His words, “We cannot continue to fold our hands while government is helpless. We must unite the people against terror.
“Kaduna has never been more divided along religious lines than it is today.
Only justice, equity and fairness will unite the country. If governor’s formula was working, he could have united the people”, he said
The former federal lawmaker noted with sadness that the Northwest has become a haven for terrorists, adding: “Our people sell their houses, farmlands to pay bandits. Where is government?”
While equally speaking shortly after picking his forms, Ahmed Aminu Yar’Adua, alleged that the gains made by the PDP in Katsina St The leadership of the party has made a difference.
