Says only the blind can’t admit
Stories by Stanley Onyekwere
The FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has given first class infrastructure to Abuja, just about two years into his administration.
Wike insisted that many can attest to the fact that indeed, Abuja has really changed, due to the Tinubu’s proven willingness to provide happiness for the people through his Renewed Home Agenda, that is working.
He spoke at the weekend while briefing newsmen shortly after inspecting ongoing infrastructure projects in the Abuja city centre.
He disclosed that to celebrate Tinubu’s second year anniversary, the FCT Administration will inaugurate completed infrastructure projects within a two-week period.
According to him: “What makes us happy is when people are happy, because at the end of the day, we are working for the people. I’ve said it before, leadership is a major issue. When you have the right leadership, people will benefit from it.
“I am happy to be identified with the leadership of Mr. President and that is what Nigeria needs.
“Mr. President has given first class infrastructure to Abuja. All of you can attest to the fact that indeed, Abuja has really changed. So we are happy for it.
“I want to thank God Almighty for providing the right leadership through Mr. President to provide the dividend of democracy to the residents of Abuja.
“ I don’t see why anybody would say that Mr. President has not done well. Except, you are just blind. Except, you don’t want to admit something that you know that is good.
“We are happy that we have fulfilled the promises that we have made.”
He continued: “So many projects are coming up. We are going to provide water for the satellite towns in Bwari, Karu, Kubwa, and so on. People will be happy.
“More roads will be going on in the city too. More renovations of schools will be going on in the city. Particularly, security will be improved. That is what we owe to the people of Abuja.
“What we have always said is that people should own all projects. People should make sure that this is for them. And therefore, they should make sure it is protected.
“They should be vigilant in looking out for those whose only motive is to destroy. It is not easy to build, but it is easy to destroy.
“So, we urge residents to be vigilant in order to make sure that people who are not happy in anything, will not destroy what they have. But for us, we will do everything we can to ensure that the infrastructure provided is protected and the sustainability of it is there.”
