The Federal Capital Territory Universal Basic Education Board (FCT-UBEB), Dr. Kabir Ibrahim Matazu has implored its field workers to prepare for proper planning, execution and monitoring of projects as they are the bedrock of the board.
Matazu noted that keeping the staff particularly focused on the job at hand is one way of getting positive results for public good.
He spoke when the Board organised a three-day training workshop to enhance the performance of staff of the works department.
The FCT-UBEB, who was represented by Board Member 1, Alhaji Yahaya Usman, said the essence of the training was to bring out the efficiency of monitoring of projects with reference to proper timing and spelling out expectations from contractors.
He noted that to avoid delay in payment to UBEB contractors, the Board had asked them to come up with modalities for better relationship, so as to fast-track their activities.
He disclosed that he has already directed the Board’s Physical Planning Department to ensure that files do not spend more than two weeks, before payment to contractors.
He challenged the department to ally with other organizations/agencies, so that the FCT UBEB department site, which has remained uncompleted will be concluded.
