Date:

Intelligentsia Machinery (IM), a body of professionals, senior executives and resource persons committed to good governance and national development, has congratulated the Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, on his birthday.

In a congratulatory statement signed by Omoba Kenneth Aigbegbele, MIS, and Comr. Umar Farouk, MIS, the organisation described Zulum as an “amiable, people-oriented leader” whose administration had brought significant changes to governance and development in Borno State.

IM commended the governor for what it described as notable achievements in infrastructure, institution-building and people-centred governance since he assumed office.

The organisation also praised Zulum for his efforts to address the security challenges confronting Borno State, particularly insurgency, banditry and kidnapping.

According to the statement, the governor’s administration has focused on rebuilding communities affected by conflict, facilitating the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and investing in key sectors such as education, healthcare and agriculture.

“Your Excellency has demonstrated uncommon courage and commitment in the fight against insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping. Through the reconstruction of destroyed communities, resettlement of Internally Displaced Persons, and massive investments in education, healthcare, and agriculture, you have restored hope and dignity to the people of Borno State,” the statement said.

The group also referenced Zulum’s recognition by the Guild of Civil Societies and Media Executives for Equity, Justice and Transparency in Nigeria (GOCMEJ) as the “Most Outstanding and Distinguished Governor of the Decade.”
