Over 1000 youths who are supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara state, have staged a rally calling for Muktar Ahmad, the Darma of Gusau, to contest for the House of Representatives to represent Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency.
The Youths who were derived from various groups and organizations converged at the former PDP state Secretariat along Samaru area in Gusau, where they described they lamented over their current representation in the National Assembly, saying they have been left behind in terms of dividend of democracy.
Addressing the crowd, the spokesman of the Youths, who is also the state Chairman of MAS Youths Organization, Alhaji Iliyasu Nanabo, said they initiated the rally in order to register their support for Muktar Darma, who they believe would serve as better representative for the people of Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency.
According to him, the people in the area had nothing to show for the current representation by the incumbent in the House of Representatives to warrant his re-election.
Meanwhile, among the reasons given as to why the Darman Gusau should be the next member of House of Representatives to represent Gusau/ Tsafe included being a philanthropist and his political exposure, amongst others.
Other reasons were his personal contributions to the development of people within the two local government areas, including building of schools for both western and Islamic education, building of Mosques, as well as providing job opportunities and support for less privileged.
