Over 1,200 women and youths in Igabi Local Government Area have graduated with vocational skills and mobilization support through the Tinubu/Uba Sani Mobilization Network’s Renewed Hope empowerment initiative, as major Federal Government infrastructure projects take shape across Kaduna State.
The empowerment ceremony, held today at LEA Primary School, Rigachikun, coincided with ongoing investments in the reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway, the Mando-Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, the Kano-Kaduna Gas Pipeline, the Kaduna Light Rail Project, and the Ibadan-Kaduna-Kano Railway.
Stakeholders described this combination of skills training and infrastructure development as catalysts for economic growth, job creation, and improved living standards.
Organized by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors of the Tinubu/Uba Sani Mobilization Network, the three-month program trained participants in eight vocational fields, including catering, home farming, computer operations, paint production, and bedsheet making.
Beneficiaries also received financial aid to establish and grow small businesses, supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Chairman and Convener of the Network, Hon. Abdulmuninu Aminu Zaria, said the initiative reflects the commitment of President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani to empowering citizens through sustainable economic opportunities.
“We trained them in various skills and provided financial support to help them become self-reliant and productive members of society. Our goal is to create opportunities that will improve livelihoods and reduce poverty at the grassroots,” he said.
Zaria praised Governor Uba Sani for his people-centered leadership and development initiatives across Kaduna State, and thanked individuals and organizations that contributed to the program’s success.
Delivering her remarks, Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Programs, Hajiya Falmata Abacha, described the graduation as a significant milestone for the beneficiaries. She noted that the initiative enhances poverty reduction efforts by promoting skills development, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods.
Abacha added that the Kaduna State Government continues to implement targeted social intervention programs for women, youths, and persons with disabilities, aligning with Governor Uba Sani’s inclusive governance agenda.
“This empowerment program complements the efforts of both the Federal and Kaduna State Governments in creating opportunities for vulnerable groups and fostering economic growth,” she stated.
Former Sole Administrator of Igabi Local Government Area, Jafar Murtala Sabo, highlighted projects like the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Highway reconstruction, the Kano-Kaduna Gas Pipeline, the Kaduna Light Rail, and the Ibadan-Kaduna-Kano Railway as among the most important public investments in the state’s history.
He stated these projects are expected to spur socio-economic development by linking communities, reducing logistics costs, and opening new markets for small businesses.
Representing the Zazzau Emirate Council, Alhaji Abdullahi Jumare commended the organizers and stakeholders for their dedication to community development and youth empowerment.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hadiza Muhammad expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani, and the organizers for providing life-changing opportunities. She said the training equipped participants with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills necessary for economic independence.
“We pledge that beneficiaries will effectively utilize the skills and financial support received to improve our livelihoods, support our families, and contribute meaningfully to national development,” she said.
The beneficiaries reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that advance economic empowerment, social inclusion, and improved living standards for Nigerians.
