Lobi stars players

Lobi Stars management has said it will take drastic steps to reposition the team following it’s poor run in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League.

Vice Chairman of the club Mr. Aondofa Tama who disclosed this to newsmen yesterday after his team lost 2-0 at home to Plateau United, lamented over the technical ineptitude of the team, adding the non commitment of the players.

He also, frowned at over bloated wage bill caused by continued retention of over 15 ex-players who are still under the pay roll of the club, regretting that this to a large extent, has hindered the team from recruiting quality players for the season.

“I have called the attention of the technical team. I gave them two (2) games. We will take some severe measures. I have to talk to my principal to decide on what steps to take.

“There are some players that are not committed to our cause. We know what we need. We will fortify the team.

We have to calm the nerves of the fans. This is unacceptable. Am disappointed. We had so many scoring chances and blew them away.

I see a lot of lapses, defensively and offensively. Things that I expected to materialize have not and for me, I think there should be be some signs of the team maturing. So.it is a technical problem.

We also need money to get quality players and I will discuss with my principal to see if there will some money available for us to acquire some quality players so we can compete with the big team.

“We have some.players who played over 15 years ago who are still on our wage bill and this does not make sense.

This is where we have a challenge. If we have a slack on the wage bill, we will be able to do some things without have to go back to government but unfortunately we have over bloated wage bill because of these ex-players that are still on the payroll .
