176 students bag First Class as BUK graduates 4,402

Bayero University Kano (BUK) will  confer First Class degrees to 176 graduands from the university, during its 39th convocation ceremony.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sagir Abbas who revealed this to journalists on Monday said the University will also confer Honorary Degrees on two distinguished Nigerians:  Col. Sani Bello (Rtd), and  Alhaji Auwalu Abdullahi Rano popularly known as A A Rano

The 39th BUK convocation is slated to begin on Wednesday, 12 February and ends on Saturday, 15 February.

On Wednesday, the University will award degrees and diplomas to 4, 402 graduands from 11 faculties.

On Thursday, the university will award  First Class to 176 graduands; Masters degrees to 2, 590 graduands;  Post Graduate diplomas to 535 graduands; and PhDs to 275 graduands.

On Friday, the Vice Chairman/CEO of NACENI, Khalili Sulaiman Halilu is expected to deliver the  Convocation lecture, with the title: “Innovation and Entrepreneurship: A Pathway to National Development.”

The Convocation lecture is to be chaired by the Hon. Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Chief Uche Jeffrey Nnaji.

Prof. Sagir further stated that,  “the 39th Convocation will witness the awarding of Emeritus Professor titles to three distinguished retired Professors:  Professor Garba Dahuwa Azare; Professor Julius Afolabi Falola; and Professor Musa Mohammed Borodo.

“ We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating the achievements of our students and honoring these distinguished individuals. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of this momentous occasion. May Almighty Allah continue to bless and guide us all.”
