Niger state police command has arrested 2 suspects for allegedly killing a police constable, Nasiru Yusuf in Minima Village of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
The two suspects who allegedly committed the act are presently in police net in the Niger State capital
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, noted that the incident occurred when the assailants attacked the two police operatives on duty in the area.
According to Abiodun, there was a complaint of assault in the area and two policemen were detailed to the scene at Minima village for an enquiry and possible arrest.
He added that in the process, the two policemen were attacked by villagers, who inflicted injuries on them, explaining that they were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Bida, for treatment and one of them, Police Custable Nasiru Yusuf, was later confirmed dead in the hospital, while the other officer is still receiving treatment.
