Five months to 2015 general elections, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) indigenes and geo-political leaders yesterday gave their support to the reelection bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.
They also revealed their planned rally to demonstrate their commitment to the President for his giant strides to the people of FCT.
Chairman of the group, under the aegis of the FCT Indigenes and Geo-political Leaders Forum Goodluck 2015 and former Ambassador to Gambia, Amb Ayuba Jacob Ngbako, said this at a press conference in Abuja.
Ngbako disclosed that the Forum’s mission was to support Jonathan in building an enduring nation.
“We believe that steering a ship to course when the wind is in favour requires a good helms man. To successfully captain a ship against the tide, buffeted on all sides by the vagaries of weather, as President Jonathan has done these past years attest to exceptional dexterity deserving commendation.
“We further believe that an exceptional leader be encouraged, nay nudged, to continue with transformation agenda and creating dividends that have effect on people. Hence, our yes! Jonathan 2015 campaign,” he said.
The Chairman also said that the mission of the Forum was “to showcase the dividends and the giant strides of the transformation agenda of the President which FCT indigenes and other Nigerians, who cast their votes in Abuja during election, have benefited.”
Commending the National Working Committee of the PDP, the Board of Trustee (BOT) and the PDP governors for endorsing the President, the former Ambassador to Gambia said that the October 9th rally would unveil presentation of signatories of FCT people endorsing Jonathan for 2015.
He said that through the rally, the Forum would unveil school to school campaign for 2015 election and also unveil Jonathan vehicles for 2015 campaign.
The Forum with the backing of FCT indigenes and Stakeholders Forum, Committee of FCT federal appointees, FCT National Assembly members, National Association of Market Women, FCT Councillors Forum, among others, has Chief Bello Premier as its national coordinator.
