2015 Guber: Nasarawa youth go for Maku

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nasarawa State chapter has led a coalition of youth organisations to pick the PDP governorship nomination form for the former Information Minister, Mr. Labaran Maku to contest the 2015 governorship elections in Nasarawa State.

A statement from the former minister’s head of media and public relations, Joseph Mutah said the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Usman Abdulhakim disclosed the information at a briefing with newsmen at the PDP headquarters in Abuja.

According to the statement, the choice of governor for the former minister was taken after a diligent survey of all the governorship aspirants in the state, Mr. Maku emerged as the most accepted choice of the people with the requisite leadership qualities that would develop the state.

Some of the attributes that endeared the former Minister to the people as stated by the statement are; “Maku’s pedigree as a student union leader, a journalist, a former Commissioner and former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State as well as former Information Minister”, which the statement indicated to have placed him far above other contenders for the governorship of the state.
