President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday held closed-door meeting with critical stakeholders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Presidential Villa.
The President engaged party stalwarts from Enugu state and was later joined by the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
Those at the Enugu PDP parley with the President include the state governor, Sullivan Chime; Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu; and a former President of the Senate, Ken Nnamani.
All those who attended the meeting declined comments when they were approached by State House correspondents.
Shortly before the Enugu meeting, Jonathan had also met with some PDP senators who were driven into the Presidential Villa, Abuja in a Coaster bus. Their identities could not be verified as the meeting was said to be strictly private and not open for journalists.
The President also met with Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State. But, Suswam later told journalists that the meeting was a private one.
Later in the evening, the President also met with the chairman of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, Chief Anthony Anenih.
