As 2015 general elections gathers momentum, the Nigeria Police has reassured Nigerians that it would do everything within its reach to guarantee security of lives and property before, during and after the elections.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG), Logistics and Supply, North-west zone, Emmanuel Kachi Udeoji, who made this known during a town-hall meeting with core security stakeholders from various Kaduna communities, held at Police Officer’s Mess, Kaduna, yesterday, said that

the Commission would recruit more hands into its workforce before 2015, though he declined to state the time it would commence. “We are doing everything possible to protect the lives and property of people, not only in 2015, but beyond; and that is one of the reasons for organising this Town Hall meeting with core stakeholders. “We want to reassure the public that we are on top of the situation and this country will be conducive for all of to do our businesses and we equally want the Nigerian citizens to assist us by providing us with only the true information of happenings in their areas,” he said. just any police officer, but a senior officer who would take the necessary step accordingly, reiterating that bail is free as the police is to serve the people who are paying taxes to that effect. In his own comment, the state chairman of Police Community Relations Committee, Engineer Linus Akakor said the meeting came at the right time and that everybody should be abreast with what is happening in the country today, saying the police cannot be everywhere.
