Following their outstanding performance in the just concluded 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the office of the Presidency will host the victorious Team Nigeria.

Team Nigeria proved all the bookmakers wrong by surpassing their previous record and finishing as the best-placed African country.

One of the key highlights of the performance of the team was the Women’s 100 meters hurdles final which was seen Nigeria track star Tobiloba Amusan set a new record to win a Gold medal.

Team Nigeria in Weightlifting also performed wonderfully well not forgetting Ese Brume in Long Jump, Blessing Oborodudu and Odunayo Adekunroye in Wrestling.

In all Team Nigeria was able to garner 35 medals which consist of 12 Gold, 9 Silver and 14 Bronze to finish 7th on the table.

The athletes will be able to meet with the Presidency on the 15th of September 2022 at Aso Villa.
