A group under the auspices of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYFC) has said the Forum will never allow the recycling of old, weak and sick citizens as leaders of the nation, especially in a fast-changing and competitive world.
National President, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, stated this in a statement made available to media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement stated that the era of having old people holding offices in Nigeria should belong to the past and “anyone who thinks this stagnation should continue, should perish that negative thought”.
AYFC therefore commended the recent call by former President Ibrahim Babangida to have a youth as Nigeria’s president in 2023.
