Date:

By Abubakar Yunusa Abuja

Ahead of the 2023 elections, Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), has called on Nigerians to desist from politics of sentiment of any kind and vote for credible persons into various offices to make the country work again.

The National Coordinator of CNG, comrade Jamilu Charanchi, gave the charge during the ‘North Central 2023 Election Sensitisation And Awareness Conference’, in Lafia.

He urged the regions to eschew all forms of violence during the 2023 general election.

He said the sensitisation became imperative to enlighten the masses to know the significance of making right choices during the forthcoming elections.

He said: “At this critical moment of electioneering period, a lot of desperate politicians who have nothing to offer are mobilising people along ethnic and religious lines for their selfish interests.

“All those promoting ethnic and religious sentiments only talk about division during this period. Once elections are over, they dine and wine together and abandon the voters.

“Nigerians have been voting leaders in all previous elections along ethnic and religious lines but it has not led us to anywhere. It is high time we take our destinies in our hands and get it right in the 2023 elections by voting for credible candidates with capacity, competence and track records of achievements”.
