2023: Ortom warns PDP leadership over neglect of 5 govs

Date:

From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom has warmed national leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to neglect 5 governors in the 2023 general elections at its peril.

It should be noted that Ortom, Nyesom Wike,(Rivers) Makinde (Oyo), Okezie Ikpeazu(Abia) and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) have been at daggers drawn with leadership of the party since the Presidential Primary that saw Atiku Abubakar emerged as flagbearer.

All efforts made to resolve the crisis, have continued to hit the rock.

While speaking at the inauguration of State Campaign Council and Management Team held at the Party Secretariat in Makurdi on Tuesday, the Governor reiterated call on the leadership of the party to resolve the issues as failure to do so, may mar its chances in 2023 election.

He insisted that the internal crisis resolution mechanism must be deployed, adding that they must listen to voice of reason to solve the lingering crisis.

According to him, “it is impossible to move forward with this crisis. If we come out in sincerity and open up the issues, we will work together. I am working for PDP but where a particular person says that Ortom does not matter, that is where the problem lies”.
