2026 Hajj: Kano announces date to commence medical screening, vaccination for intending pilgrims

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, has announced the commencement date for medical screening and immunization of all intending pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director General of the board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, made this known on Saturday while supervising activities at the Hajj Training Center in Gwarzo Local Government Area.
In a statement by the board’s spokesman, Sulaiman Dederi, the DG stated that the exercise would commence on Monday, 9th February 2026, adding that it would take place at the Pilgrims Camp Clinic (Hajj Camp) in Kano.
Dederi said, Matawalle, who was represented by the Director of Propagation, Education and Enlightenment, Alhaji Murtala Lawan Sani, emphasized that strict compliance with all rules and regulations of the noard would ensure a smooth and successful Hajj operation.
He explained that the exercise will include comprehensive medical screening, routine immunization, and pregnancy tests for female pilgrims.
Speaking on the Hajj induction course, the Director General urged pilgrims to be attentive and dedicated to their instructors in order to properly understand how to perform their Ibadat while in the Holy Land.
Intending pilgrims were also advised to strictly adhere to their flight schedules and remain within the groups assigned to their respective Local Government Areas.
The monitoring team also visited the Gwarzo and Rimin Gado Local Government Areas respectively.
