Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has expressed confidence that he will secure a second term in office in the 2027 governorship election.

Alia, who spoke at a youth town hall meeting at IBB Square, Makurdi, on Tuesday evening, also predicted victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Addressing thousands of youths at the gathering, the governor said his administration’s achievements across key sectors would strengthen his bid for re-election.

“I am coming back, and there is no shaking,” Alia declared.

He highlighted what he described as his administration’s progress in education, agriculture, transportation, healthcare, infrastructure, entrepreneurship and youth development, saying the achievements would speak for his government during the election.

Ahead of the commencement of political campaigns, Alia urged candidates and political parties to conduct themselves peacefully and avoid violence and political thuggery.

He advised politicians to focus their campaigns on issues affecting Benue State rather than engaging in personal attacks.

The governor also cautioned youths against allowing themselves to be used as instruments of violence or destruction before and during the electioneering period.

Alia encouraged young people to participate responsibly in the political process and make decisions based on the development of the state.
