2027: Atiku/ Peter Obi coalition unrealistic- Alawuje

Date:

From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje has dismissed the coalition talks between Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi as unrealistic and disconnected from the realities of Nigeria.
He emphasized that the 2027 general election is approaching, with national attention now shifting toward the leadership succession beyond 2031.
Referring to former Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, Alawuje questioned the reasoning of coalition candidates who argue that four years is insufficient for good governance.
He pointed out that this critique also applies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. “No sensible or sincere Nigerian can fairly judge President Tinubu’s performance in just four years,” Alawuje stated, urging citizens to allow him time to deliver results.
Alawuje criticized recycled politicians, asserting that they have already had their chances and have failed.
He advised younger coalition members to focus on rebuilding credibility, stressing that emotional rhetoric and divisive tactics will not be effective. “Nigeria’s interest must always come first,” he emphasized.
He condemned attempts to undermine stability, labeling such actions as the work of “enemies of national progress.”
Alawuje also expressed his support for legislation that would prohibit ethnic or religious campaigning, promoting unity and harmony.
Reaffirming his support for Tinubu, Alawuje declared, “His success is our success, and failure is not an option.”
