A socio-political group, Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, has inaugurated its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter, declaring support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration, held in Abuja, brought together members of the Akwa Ibom community and supporters of the initiative, who pledged to mobilise votes in support of the three political leaders.
In his welcome address, the FCT Coordinator of the group, Dr. Tommy Etim Okon, expressed gratitude for the successful launch and commended Akwa Ibom indigenes in Abuja for their turnout. He described the initiative as a platform aimed at delivering more democratic dividends to the people.
Dr. Okon said the event marked a significant moment for Akwa Ibom indigenes in the FCT, noting that members unanimously endorsed President Tinubu, Senator Akpabio, and Governor Eno for another term spanning 2027 to 2031.
According to him, the leaders have demonstrated commitment to improving lives through impactful governance, adding that the group would work to foster unity and mobilise widespread support for their re-election bids.
He also highlighted Governor Eno’s achievements under the ARISE Agenda, particularly in education, infrastructure development, empowerment programmes, and social investment initiatives, which he said have strengthened the case for the governor’s re-election.
Speaking at the event, the President-General of the initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko, described Governor Eno as one of the best-performing governors in Nigeria, citing his contributions to development across various sectors.
Okoko further revealed plans for the construction of a five-star hotel project expected to create jobs for youths and artisans while boosting government revenue.
He urged members of the Akwa Ibom community in Abuja to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively participate in the electoral process.
He also called on indigenes to remain law-abiding and serve as good ambassadors of the state, describing the initiative as a unifying platform designed to bring together stakeholders and grassroots supporters to advance development-oriented policies.
In his remarks, the Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, who represented Governor Eno, commended the FCT chapter for its organisation and commitment. He encouraged members to support the movement, noting that it would contribute to the welfare and progress of the people.
The event featured the swearing-in of newly appointed executives led by Dr. Okon, with Comrade Kingsley Iwok as Deputy Coordinator, as well as the inauguration of an Advisory Council chaired by Dr. Emmanuel J. Umoh.
Also present was the President of the Akwa Ibom Community in Abuja, Barr. Gabriel Fan, among other stakeholders expected to provide strategic guidance for the initiative.
The ceremony also witnessed the donation of vehicles and other materials to support the group’s mobilisation efforts across the FCT and beyond.
The inauguration signals the emergence of a coordinated political structure aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and support for the endorsed candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
